New User Tutorial

Hello and welcome to the Realm of Lyth! We are an art-based role playing game (ARPG) set in the world of Lyth. The species that live here are collectively known as Lythians — we are as varied and interesting as the world itself!

Our game is always evolving but as of now, you can create characters, capture new species, collect items, earn currency, and plenty more!

To get started, you will need to find or create a Lythian (also sometimes called adoptables). Do you already have a Lythian?

Great! We’ll get right into the information about what you can do now! If you did not receive your Lythian via our Free Playable Character feature, you can still make your own Forim descendant designs later on for free, though they have some minor limitations.

You may want more Lythians later on — you can get them by purchasing adoptable designs from official artists, trading with other players, or receiving items that allow you to make your own.

If you have a Forim descendant species of Lythian, you can adjust the way they look by changing their adaptations. By using a mix of adaptations, you can make a completely unique Lythian! Some adaptations may be acquired by using items, which can be earned from shops, events, activities, and other locations.

You may make small redesigns and updates of other Lythian species adoptables, but there is currently no way to do a complete overhaul of their designs.

Let’s move on to some of the world exploration now!

Alright, no problem! Many of our species are available through adoptables. However, we understand that not everyone can or is willing to spend money on a game. This is why we have developed in-game mechanics that will allow you to gain characters just by simply playing our game for free! Of course, you'll need at least one character to get started, which is why we allow you to make a Free Playable Character (FPC).

FPCs can participate in almost all parts of the game, but still have their limitations. You have complete control over their nickname and personality, with guidelines for their design, which must be officially approved. Ultimately, however, they are still partially owned by the game — since you will be using one of our five Forim descendants as your base — but further into their development, you will have the ability to fully convert them into a playable character that you own. (More information on how to do this is coming soon!)

You may want even more Lythians later on — you can get them by purchasing adoptable designs from official artists, trading with other players, or receiving items that allow you to make your own.

Let’s move on to some of the world exploration now!

Once you have your first Lythian, you can start playing! The primary goal of an art game is to get you making art to participate. Art does not have to be drawn — you can also write, make music, or craft, and still participate in everything we have to offer! There are, of course, other activities which do not require an art, but we hope to tie some form of creativity into each of our features.

If you'd like to get to know the world around you, we have a map of Lyth that your characters can travel across via passports. Many areas are still unavailable but will be coming soon!

You can also choose to jump right into our activities! We have an ever-expanding list of activities, through which you can earn achievements, badges, and currency. For example, Igroven quests can be completed by any Symphony, Lilipeep, or Lythian with at least one Igroven passport to earn extra Loonoles! This special currency can be used to purchase items at places such as the Igroven Pet Shop. Even if you don't have the right qualifications for activities, you can still be rewarded for just random free play!

When you make a piece of art for a quest, you can turn it in over on this page (most activity prompts are turned in on this page — check the Activity Name dropdown to see what's available to you).

Art-based submissions do require staff approval — this typically will not take longer than a few days (usually quite a bit faster than that).

Your best bet for familiarizing yourself with everything is by joining our Discord server. Our community tends to be most active there in terms of playing together, creating art, and getting to know one another! Our staff team is also active in the server, so you can get live assistance and the latest updates. We answer questions on the spot and sometimes post new things there before anywhere else!

Additionally, feel to check out our DeviantArt group galleries to see all the amazing artwork from the community! As a member of the group, you're free to contribute as well, as long as you follow the submission guidelines.

Make sure to look at the “Community" navigation tab as well. We offer a variety of ways to interact with others, such as Blogs, and a Friends system. You can also see News and Updates under this tab!

And finally, our social media is linked at the bottom of every site page. Please give us a follow at your favorite social media too!

That covers most of it!

The Support tab of the navigation covers a large variety of information. If you ever have questions, a lot of our information is right there.

If you want to contact us, or have further questions, consider joining the Discord server, or sending in a contact form.

Thank you for sticking around for my explanation! Here is a starter pack with a variety of things to help kickstart your adventure. I hope to see you again out there in the Realm of Lyth!
